About Christian House of Prayer
A word church anchored in apostolic truth, family restoration, and uncompromised faith in Jesus Christ.
From Military Barracks to an Apostolic Pulpit in Jackson, MS
Dr. Michael Terrell Jackson was called into ministry at a very young age. Just like the roots of his hometown, Gulfport, MS, Michael began his journey of building people and spreading the truth.
Dr. Jackson proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. His first assignment was at Fort Drum, N.Y., where he was led to Christ in the barracks in 1987. Two years later, God called him into the ministry and he preached his first sermon at Sweet Haven Holy Church Of God #3 under the leadership of Bishop Nathaniel Johnson, where he was later licensed.
His spiritual journey continued across military re-locations, serving faithfully at Emmanuel Temple in Hawaii under Bishop Carl E. Harris for three years, and then sitting under the foundational tutoring of Bishop Nathaniel Holcomb at Fort Hood, Texas for nine years.
After nine transformative years of preparation, Dr. Jackson was released to his pastorate in Jackson, MS, where Christian House of Prayer Jackson (CHOP) was started. Today, CHOP continues to impact Mississippi and the world.
"At CHOP, the Word of God is not compromised. CHOP is a word church where we believe in the whole word and the doctrine of the apostles."
